Week 9

Good Evening Perry Families,

Thank you to all of you who have turned in your Federal Survey cards! We still have about 45 cards still missing. Please turn them in so we can receive more funding.

Just a quick reminder that Federal Survey cards need to be turned by this Thursday, October 24 THANK YOU for making this a priority!

  1. Federal Survey cards went home two weeks ago. Please take the time to fill these out if you have not already done this. The more survey cards that are returned to the school, the more funding our school will receive. Please help us by returning the survey card to your child's teacher. Congratulations to Mrs. Mickles class who was the first classroom to turn in 100% of their federal survey cards. They will be having a pizza party this Wednesday to celebrate. Great job! Thank you to all of you who have turned in your federal survey card! Federal Survey Card.pdf
  2. Please help us keep the gate closed that goes from the staff parking lot to the playground. Safety is our number one priority. If you are dropping off for Primetime, please close the gate behind you. Thank you for your help with this!
  3. The Choice application period for school year 2019-2020 is now open and will close on November 13, 2019. Please see attached letter for more information regarding school choice enrollment.Choice Letter.pdf
  4. This month's character trait is respect. The next award ceremony will be on Friday, November 8. Each teacher will send out an invite if your child is being honored. Please discuss with your child at home the importance of being a respectful citizen. We appreciate your support.
  5. Extra support at PE is needed every Wednesday! If you are able to volunteer to help Coach De Perro on Wednesday, it would be greatly appreciated. On Wednesday, we allow our teachers to meet in grade levels during PE time. Any extra support during this time is greatly appreciated. Please email Coach De Perro is you are able to help with this at: rdeperro@sandi.net.
  6. Please help us by completing the free lunch application and LCFF survey. I have attached more information on this. LCFF_FreeReducedApp_ReferenceSheet.pdf
  7. Parents please know that we are working with our students this year with a new curriculum that teaches them about problem solving on their own and learning to be good citizens. This program is the Second Step program. With this curriculum, we are teaching students the importance of self-discipline and effective conflict resolution. I have attached a hand out about bullying so that you can have this discussion with your child. If you feel like your child is having trouble getting along with other students please talk to your child's teacher before coming to the office to talk with Mr. Boutelle or myself. Your child's teacher should always be the first contact you make since they are with your child and understand their needs and concerns. Mr. Boutelle and I always want to be there for every child, so during the school day, our first priority is to our students. If you feel you need to speak with one of us please call the office and make an appointment. We are happy to meet with you before or after the school day. We appreciate your understanding and helping us make our students our first priority.Bullying Information.pdf
  8. A big Perry welcome to our new teacher in room 19! Welcome Mrs. Kurpiewski. We are so excited to have you as part of the Perry family!
  9. Please remember that when students come to school in the morning they have two choices: Eat breakfast and socialize in the lunch court and/or participate in running club. Students should be ready to line up with their classes at 9:05am and be in class by 9:10am. Thank you for your help with this!
  10. We are looking for parents who may want to help us update our school website. If you are interested, please email Mr. Boutelle at tboutelle@sandi.net.
  11. Congratulations to Mrs. Zitsman! Our staff member who had the most miles in the month of September during running club!
