Week 20

Dear Perry Families,

Happy Spring Break!  I hope that you are all finding time to spend with family and friends.

We appreciate all of you that took time to meet with your child’s teacher.  If you still need a conference there will be one more day on Monday, April 4.  This will also be a modified school day and dismissal will be at 1:05pm for kindergarten and 1:15pm for grades 1-5.

Words of kindness for the week:

This week’s message is from Mr. Boutelle:

“On Tuesday afternoon, Olivia, in Ms. Roma’s class, approached Ms. Morales at the gate during dismissal. She was so excited to tell Ms. Morales that there were ‘no loud voices in our class today’. It was wonderful to witness Olivia’s pride in her class, but little did she know it was one of the kindest things our principal had heard so far this day. They both had huge smiles to share. Sometimes an act of kindness can't help but grow from the simple act of sharing good things.”

Thank you to Mr. Boutelle for your kind message for the week.  Rah rah Olivia for sharing this kind message with me, the principal.  Keep up the random acts of kindness!

  • We have one more day for parent teacher conferences.  Monday, April 4 is an early out day.  Thank you for picking up your child by 1:15pm so that teachers can attend to conferences.

  • Covid testing kits have gone home with all students.  Please administer the test before students return from spring break.  Thank you for doing your part to keep all students safe.

  • When we return from spring break students will have the option to not wear a mask in the classroom and outside.  Please talk to your child about this option and let them know your thoughts on if you want them to continue wearing a mask and/or what you feel is the best option for your child.  We appreciate your support with this.   We will also have hand sanitizer near the front gates for students.  If students wish to Sanitize this will be optional.

  • Welcome to Perry our new Military Family Life Counselor!  Mr. Eric will be joining the Perry family on Wednesday, April 6.  He has been permanently assigned to Perry to work with our Military Families.  He will be at the gate before and after school if you would like to say hello.  If you would like for your child to see him, please complete the attached form.  This is for military families only.  MFLC-Parent-Acknowledgement-Form-7-28.pdf

  • From the SAY San Diego Counselor:

"Hello Perry family! SAY San Diego's Healthy Start Program offered to have Project A.W.A.R.E. provide restorative circles for our students on campus (in-person) this spring semester! Teachers recommended a few students from each class (grades 2nd-5th) to participate in this weekly group and provided permission slips. Parents, if you could please sign the permission slips and return them that would be great! Project A.W.A.R.E. will begin April 8th."  Please email Ms. Kassandra if you have additional questions at kpedraza@sandi.net.
